Watch God Provide! What an exclamatory statement. While I know exclamatory statements convey a multitude of emotions like anger, frustration, or warning, my goal is to invoke excitement about the dedicated exploration of your purpose and/or steadfast productivity related to kingdom purpose. I intend for this statement to cause you to exhale and invigorate you at the same time. When we are obedient to the call and instructions of God related to purpose and destiny, we can be ascertained that God will provide. Not only will God provide resources and connections related to purpose and destiny, but He will also bring you to resources, wealth, and good health too.
Remember the children of Israel who were brought out of Egypt and called to the wilderness to worship God with a promise of receiving the promised land. The children of Egypt, although slaves for 400 years, left Egypt with great wealth in order to fulfill the purposes of God, and to enjoy for their personal needs and desires as well. Consider Abraham who received a promise of a great name and descendants as numerous as the stars. Abraham was instructed to leave his family and go to (accept) the place that God would show him. As Abraham went, God provided victory in battle, favor with men and kings, and he became wealthier and wealthier as he journeyed toward purpose and destiny. Often on our journey, what we need is direction and confirmation. Well, God will provide that too (Jeremiah 33:3). Consider the surety given Jeremiah if he would seek and inquire of God. God promised to reveal the hidden treasures of the kingdom to him. God will provide the basics (Matthew 6:25-26) and far beyond what we can imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
When we are in a place of obedience to the call and instruction of God, we are guaranteed provision. According to Ephesians 1:3, we have every spiritual blessing… to do the “good work” prepared in advance for us according to Ephesians 2:10. God’s promise of provision includes material provisions to do this designated “good work”. It is important to know that God’s provision is given as we are moving in faith toward the promise and responding with obedience to His instructions. If you are not moving in faith or acting on instructions, the provision will be waiting up ahead where faith and obedience intersect. For example, if God gave you a vision or promise of a building for a church he called you to build and pastor, He will not provide a building before you are obedient to His instruction to search and explore buildings and locations, put a deposit on land, or make an offer on a certain property. What we have to understand is that provision is not a thing to obtain; it is a place you arrive at by faith in God’s promises, and by obedience to His instructions.
When God gives a promise, provision has already been made. Your current situation is insignificant to provision. The resources you have are insignificant to provision. When God makes a promise, He is telling you that He will provide. Your role is to exercise faith in His promise and respond with obedience to His instructions as He sets the path that leads you to the place of provision.
