#29 God sees, hears, and knows

Happy New Year! I pray your Holiday Season was filled with love and joy. Although I spent the Holidays alone, it gave me time to reflect and meditate on the things of God and how I can support the work of the kingdom in the new year. During the next several weeks, I will be sharing something I call billboard messages from God. They are messages of hope in which I pray your spirit will be lifted.

I encourage you to meditate on the billboard message and the scripture references each week to grow in your faith, to understand your value to the kingdom and to God, and to remind yourself that God has a hope and good future in store for you.

This week’s billboard message comes from Exodus 3:7-10 (KJV):

And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

You may be enduring the roughest season of your life and it has left you questioning your faith, your decisions, your value, your future, and purpose. You might be wondering where is God in this season. Does He even know or care what is going on right now? When reading the scripture reference several things leaped off the page. First, God, in this passage of scripture desired to assure the children of Israel by speaking comforting words. He is an observant father who keeps a watchful eye over His offspring. Second, He is an empathetic and sympathetic father whose ears attend to the cry of His child. He is a father that understands all and validates the feelings and suffering of His children. Finally, He is an over-protective father that will assuredly deal with oppressors and oppressive situations.

Understand that nothing escapes God. He is fully aware of your losses, your suffering, your rejection, your oppression, and your humiliation. This week, meditate over and draw encouragement from the fact that God sees your circumstances. He has heard your cry. He knows well the sorrow and pain you are experiencing. He knows your oppressor. And, He is coming to deliver you.
